Squiggly line for flake8 linting errors show too much information

When there is a flake8 linting error in my code, I get a whole bunch of documentation about the python feature I've highlighted, and then the actual error at the very bottom of the error box (error not shown in image, you have to scroll all the way down):

@themanifold If you use Jedi as a language server, then you will see this text. This has nothing to do with flake8. You can hover over any keyword and you will see the documentation for that keyword. To see the issue reported by flake8 you will need to scroll down in the hover window.

OK, so you're saying that if I switch the language server to something else, this would help? Point is, I don't want to see all that documentation @karthiknadig

Yes. Switch to Pylance.
