vscode go to definition not working for python

VSC version : code_1.41.1-1576681836_amd64.deb
ubuntu : 18.04

when i use F12 or click the 'go to definition button' in the menu, nothing happened...
actually i have another machine with the same VSC and ubuntu version, it runs well. So, not sure for what is the problem. I have tryied reinstall the VSC but no help... Could anyone give some useful advises?

thanks for the quick reply, it has been solved. It seems that although I enabled the jedi, the python language server still needs to be completely downloaded. And for me, the downloading is extremely slow... When it finishes, things go well.
