_compute_output_dir bug #562
Description
If a user has no saved variables in a monte carlo simulation, they shouldn't have to provide an output_dir argument to the run function. There is currently a bug, though, that only happens when there are also scenario_args, where if a user doesn't provide an output_dir, they get an error.
