This page teaches you how to install Lunecrash on your device.
ATTENTION: Read flashing instructions before proceeding. Keep in mind this will delete your data, so keep local backups. This guide also assumes you have ADB and Fastboot already installed on your computer. If you're on Windows you can install minimal ADB and Fastboot. Or if you're on a Unix/Unix-like system you can download it from your package manager.
IF YOUR PHONE HAS BEEN UPGRADED TO ANDROID 11 OFFICIALLY DON'T TRY THIS. OTHERWISE YOU'LL END UP WITH A HARD BRICKED PHONE
Files needed:
- Latest version of the Mi A3 Android 9 firmware
- TWRP or another custom recovery
- A Halium GSI, like:
- Lunecrash kernel and dtbo
- halium-ramdisk.zip
- Ensure your bootloader is unlocked. Instructions for this can be found here.
- Reboot to fastboot. (Reboot your phone and hold down the volume down button)
- Flash the Android 9 firmware by executing flash_all.bat on Windows or flash_all.sh on Linux. If the script is stuck in the title on Linux, run it as root. Android 10 is not compatible
- Hold the volume down button after the device reboots automatically
- Flash your custom recovery and dtbo on slot A. (flashing TWRP on slot B will not work, since even switching slots in custom recovery will cause it to flash on slot B, where the system image resides)
fastboot flash dtbo dtbo.img - Reboot and hold the volume up key.
fastboot reboot - Once you're on TWRP go to Wipe, then Format data. Type yes and press Enter.
- Go to Advanced, then ADB sideload and slide to proceed.
- Flash halium-ramdisk.zip with
adb sideload halium-ramdisk.zip. If you get the following error:adb: pre-KitKat sideload connection failed: closedon Linux, runadb kill-serverand then runsudo adb start-server - Once it's done, run ADB Sideload again and then execute
adb sideload Als-Lunecrash-XXXXXXXX-XXXX.zip. - Finally go back, run ADB sideload again and flash your Halium GSI with
adb sideload [GSI FILENAME]. More distros will be available later through GSIs, so you can use another GSI image in this step. Then reboot.
Done! After rebooting you should see the Android One logo and then the Ubuntu Touch boot screen! If not, repeat this guide, ensuring you did all steps correctly.
