A new install now lists what adminium.dev offers

A new install of 0.3.16 asks adminium.dev for two lists: the add-ons and the apps it offers. One request when the server starts and once a day, and when a page opens on a list older than a day.

  • What is sent: the server's IP address, the time, and its Adminium version. Nothing about your data, your users or what you have installed. No add-on or app is named to anyone until a person presses Install; a download then names that item and its version to downloads.adminium.dev (served by Cloudflare).
  • How to switch it off: the switch on the Add-ons page and the one on the Apps page (each list has its own), or ADMINIUM_NETWORK_FEATURES=off in the environment, which outranks both switches. Set before the first start, the request is never made.
  • A server upgraded from an earlier version is unchanged. A list that was off stays off and asks adminium.dev for nothing; its page shows one button, Show what is available, with what showing it sends. A choice you stored, on or off, is never touched.

What else is in it

  • One Install button. Add-ons: Install downloads, then shows what the add-on adds, with Cancel and Install. Apps: Install downloads the app and opens one dialog (the database, what it adds, the add-ons it brings); More choices opens the full wizard.
  • Adminium Designer
    • A first build worth keeping: a look for the app's screens (asked once, changed later with no model call), sample rows, the business's name.
    • The chat stays still while it works, draws Markdown, and shows a recovered miss as one. New session on an app.
    • A customer's own row ("track my order") by a claim, with the tested recipe put in front of the model.
    • Whose eyes the preview is ("Seen as: Baker — a preview"), and the owner sets their password on the page.
    • A card gets an add-on the app needs, by its name and version, after a yes.
    • Attach a picture or a CSV to a message. A picture goes to a model that reads pictures (asked of the model, once); a CSV's rows are loaded into the app's table after a yes, through the dashboard's own import.
    • Less is sent at each step: what a turn no longer needs is cut before each call to the model.
    • Screens are read before a person meets them: a hook called after an early return, table names read from the wrong object, a public list sorted from the page. The preview also shows an error a screen went on from.
  • Security: an app that lets anyone add a row to a table and anyone read that table is refused when written as two publicAccess entries, as it already was in one. An app of your own written that way installed on 0.3.15 and is refused when it is next updated or applied: give the reading entry a claim, or drop one of the two.
  • Two copies of an app that share a table no longer double its sample rows.
