Now StealthPin

The app is now called StealthPin, with a capital P, to match the new logo. You'll see the new name in the menu bar, the app menu, the setup tour and every message. Nothing about how it works has changed.

Install

Download Stealthpin.zip below, unzip it, and move StealthPin to Applications. If you have an earlier version, delete the old Stealthpin app first. Your bookmarks, trips, history and settings stay where they are. It's signed and notarized by Apple.

Traffic that behaves like traffic

Drives no longer roll along at one steady speed. Stealthpin now drives the way a car really moves:

  • Speeds that suit the road. Highways, main roads and side streets each get their own speed.
  • Red lights and stop signs. The car brakes for turns, waits at lights and stop signs, and gets caught in stop-and-go when traffic is heavy.
  • The traffic for right now. Apple Maps' estimate for leaving now sets the pace, so rush hour brings more reds and longer queues than a quiet night, and the trip still takes as long as Apple says it would.
  • See it on the map. While it drives, the route is colored by traffic like Maps, green through red, with a readout of the speed and what's happening ("Red light, 40 s"). The map now shows the whole drive and names where you're headed.

Walking waits at crossings, and cycling stops at lights. It all comes from Apple's own directions: no extra account, and nothing new leaves your Mac.

Developer Mode without Xcode

The setup tour's Developer Mode step has a new Show the Switch on My iPhone button. With the iPhone plugged in by cable and unlocked, it makes the hidden Developer Mode switch appear in Settings, so you no longer need Xcode. There's also a plain-language guide at stealthpin.com/developer-mode.

Install

Download Stealthpin.zip below, unzip it, and move Stealthpin to Applications, replacing the old one. It's signed and notarized by Apple. Your bookmarks, trips, history and settings stay where they are.

A tour on first launch

The first time Stealthpin opens, a short tour now walks you through it:

  • How it works. Your Mac tells your iPhone where to be, and every app follows.
  • Setup, checked live. pymobiledevice3, your iPhone connected and trusted, Developer Mode, and the tunnel. Each item turns green as you finish it, and anything missing has a fix right next to it.
  • Your first move. "Where do you want to be today?" Search for a place or pick a quick favorite, then send your iPhone there.
  • The features, each with an animated illustration: traveling instead of teleporting, natural drift, routes and recorded trips, favorites and Recents, and the iPhone remote.
  • Getting back to real. Every way to switch faking off, including restarting the iPhone.

Already set up? Skip it, or come back any time from Help › Stealthpin Tour.

Install

Download Stealthpin.zip below, unzip it, and move Stealthpin to Applications. It's signed and notarized by Apple. If you already have 0.1.0, replace it; your bookmarks, trips, history and settings stay where they are.

The first release of Stealthpin, the Mac app that changes where your iPhone appears in Find My, Maps and every other app.

What's in it

  • Set a location anywhere on the map, from search, or from a bookmark.
  • Travel instead of teleporting. Moving more than 500 m away offers to drive or walk there along real roads, taking as long as Apple Maps says the trip would.
  • Natural GPS drift while the phone sits still, so the location doesn't look frozen.
  • Routes that start from where the phone is and follow roads, at walking, cycling or driving pace.
  • Recorded trips. Replay a journey you actually made, with its real stops and pace. GPX import and export.
  • Back to Real Location from the window, the menu bar, ⇧⌘⌫ or the phone. Restarting the iPhone also switches faking off, and Stealthpin respects that.
  • Bookmarks, favorites and Recents. Favorites are one click away in the menu bar and on ⌘1–⌘9, places you keep going back to get suggested as bookmarks, and Recents keeps a day-by-day record of where the phone has appeared.

Before you start

You need macOS 14 or later, an iPhone with Developer Mode turned on, and pymobiledevice3:

uv tool install pymobiledevice3

Install

Download Stealthpin.zip below, unzip it, and move Stealthpin to Applications. It's signed and notarized by Apple, so it opens normally. Connect your iPhone over USB and tap Trust. On iOS 17 and later, click the iPhone button at the top left of the map and choose Start to bring up the tunnel. It asks for your admin password.

Stealthpin Remote, the iPhone companion app, isn't included, because iOS only installs apps from the App Store, TestFlight or a developer's own build.
