First tagged release. The CLI and the bundled GitHub Action have been running
daily against a live self-hosted instance since the end of August; this tag
exists so the action can be published to the GitHub Marketplace and pinned to
a stable ref instead of @main.
What it does
Internet.nl tests one domain at a time in a browser. This submits a whole
fleet to a batch API v2 endpoint, polls until the run finishes, and renders
the result as a diffable table or as JSON for pipelines.
- uses: MWest2020/internetnl-cli@v1
with:
hosts: example.org
endpoint: https://api.westerweel.work
credential: ${{ secrets.INTERNETNL_CREDENTIAL }}Exit codes are stable: 0 ok, 1 config, 2 transport/API, 3 the
--fail-on-scored gate, 4 poll timeout. An allowlist file covers accepted
failures so a known exception does not break the build.
Getting a credential
Three routes, documented in the README: a supporter key for the netnl facade
(a one-off Buy Me a Coffee donation of $2 or more mints one automatically),
an account on the hosted batch API, or your own instance. The live demo needs
no credential at all.
Not a reimplementation
The tests, the scoring and the verdicts belong to Internet.nl and run on the
endpoint you point at. Nothing is measured or approximated locally: an
unreachable API gives an error, never a guess. Batch results differ from the
website's in documented ways, so every result is labelled with the endpoint,
the timestamp and the API version.
Only measure hosts you operate or have explicit permission to test.
Compatibility
The user-visible surface — commands, flags, environment variables and exit
codes — is pinned in openspec/changes/add-internetnl-cli/design.md and stays
stable within 1.x.
