Magnitude v2.1.1 (macOS, Apple Silicon / arm64)

Maintenance release. Sound, controls and plugin identity are unchanged from v2.1.0.

Changes

• The plugin metadata now points to the renamed repository, https://github.com/nagualcode/magnitude (formerly gersicpressurebornagain; old links redirect).
• Author metadata updated.
• The README has a new, detailed guide to the signal chain: SC HPF, stereo link, envelope ballistics, gain computer, lookahead, parallel blend, saturator/HQ, latency and metering, with level tables and starting-point settings.

Upgrading

• From v2.1.0: just install over it.
• From Gersic Pressure (v1 / v2.0.x): projects and presets open unchanged, but delete the old Gersic Pressure.clap / .vst3 / .component bundles first, because they share the plugin id. See Upgrading from Gersic Pressure.

Validation

auval (AU v2 + v3), pluginval (VST3) and clap-validator 0.4.1 (37 passed, 7 skipped) all pass.

Gersic Pressure: Born Again is now Magnitude. Same DSP, same controls, same sound as v2.0.1, with a new name.

Upgrading from Gersic Pressure

Magnitude keeps the same plugin identity (CLAP/VST3 ids, AU code aufx PR3S Jrdm, parameter ids). Projects and presets saved with Gersic Pressure v1/v2 open unchanged; the DAW just shows "Magnitude".

Because the identity is shared, delete the old bundles before rescanning, or your DAW will see two plugins with the same id:

Bug-fix release for the CLAP version. Sound and controls are identical to v2.0.0; see its notes for everything new in v2.

Fixes

• CLAP: latency changes (LookAhead, HQ) no longer violate the CLAP spec. The plugin now asks the host to restart processing instead of calling latency.changed while active.
• CLAP: loading a project or preset now tells the host to re-read parameter values, so automation lanes and generic editors stop showing stale values.

All formats pass: auval (AU v2 + v3), pluginval (VST3) and clap-validator 0.4.1 (37 passed, 7 skipped for unimplemented optional extensions).

Gersic Pressure v2.0.0 (macOS, Apple Silicon / arm64)

A more faithful and modernised recreation of Tom & Jeremy Gersic's 2006 PRESSURE upward compressor.

Fidelity fixes

• Release ballistics corrected. The envelope now uses SynthMaker's 1 % time convention, verified against coefficients cached in the original schematic. v1's release was ~4.6x too slow (GR recovery 1220 ms → 266 ms).
• Per-channel detection by default, as in the original (the new Link control restores v1's linked behaviour).
• Parameters are smoothed per sample (v1 stepped once per block).
• Latency is reported to the host, so lookahead no longer shifts your track out of time.
• Click-free lookahead changes.

New

• HQ: 4x linear-phase oversampled saturator. Aliasing −29.7 dB → −65.4 dB on a 7 kHz 0 dBFS sine.
• Color (saturator drive), Link (stereo link), SC HPF (detector high-pass). All default to the original sound.
• New editor modelled on an Ableton Live device, with Transfer/Activity display and GR/output meters.
• v1 projects and the 10 factory presets load unchanged.
