Chrome extension to add keyboard shortcuts for Spotify web player.
🚨 This stopped working after Spotify revamped their web app so I took down the extension. Still putting the source code on GitHub for archival purposes 🤷🏼♂️.
- The shortcuts can have Global and Chrome scope. Global shortcuts will work from outside of Chrome too.
- Open Spotify shortcut will switch to the spotify tab from wherever you are, even outside the context of Chrome.
- Chrome only allows setting max of 4 keyboard shortcuts, user can go to chrome://extensions/configureCommands to set the shortcuts.
- Map your custom shortcut keys before using the extension, the suggested keys are a bit complicated so that they don't interfere with system keyboard shortcuts.
- I have mapped the following shortcuts.
- Next Track: Ctrl+Shift+0
- Previous Track: Ctrl+Shift+9
- Toggle Play Pause: Ctrl+Shift+2
- Show Search: Ctrl+S
- Open Spotify: Ctrl+Shift+1
