What is problem? I download and use app. It works.

@francwalter made me laugh with his comment.

The application works. However, it is always interesting to have an active repo manager. At least to merge the PR.

The lack of updates (versions or info) leaves me uncertain if ClipMenu is compatible with Yosemite. And if so, which version? I see versions 0.4.3, 0.4.4, and 1.0? Which to use? and how do they differ?
Thanks.

Yes this application still works even on 10.11.3.
I tested 0.4.4a12 which is working and was the last beta. The 1.x is crippled, long not finished new version, lacking important features and as ClipMenu is dead (hopefully only the app) and the source code for the 1.x is not published, I used this 0.4.4a12 before.
But I switched to Copy'em Paste since some months, quite better, not abandoned, but 10$.

I am using the compiled version 0.4.3 from the website (http://www.clipmenu.com/) and it works quite fine on macOS Sierra (10.12.2).

I found a fork of this project called clipy which is still being maintained.
It fixes the issues I had with ClipMenu like not being able to paste in the snippets.

@harman28 I wonder if we can set up a mirror URL and get that accepted into the Cask repository. I have it installed on some of my machines. It should be possible to pull the .dmg.

EDIT: Folks please just use Clipy.

@harman28

@ahmetb I think the fork that is maintained at Clipy works great, and so that might be unnecessary.

@ceyzaguirre4

@ahmetb Ive been looking all over for clip menu, by now it was an essential part of my workflow. Many others probably think alike and would benefit from the publishing. Something as simple as a Dropbox link should solve @harman28, my own and others problem finding the app.

Since a while I bought "Copy'em Paste", which is the best clipboard app I know for Mac.
EDIT 22.12.2018: Still very useful and far better than ClipMenu. It's under constant development and gets even better and better.

@BecomingDitto, thanks for posting the download. I wonder if another developer could take over the application and keep it updated. It looks like the original developer is MIA.

@cnyyk when you say to "try AppCleaner to clean all files except ClipMenu.app" you mean clean all the 'caches', 'preferences' and 'crash reports, etc, as show here: https://i.postimg.cc/mgVKS5X4/Screenshot-2018-10-29-19-25-49.png

If not, could you please tell me which files I need to clean and whether it's using appleaner and uninstaller, in order to use clipMenu with Mojave?

Thanks!

Actually, ClipMenu always works like a charm(I'm on 10.14.4 and 0.4.3)

  1. Should try AppCleaner to clean all files except ClipMenu.app.
  2. as @rgl2811 mentioned: Go to Preferences/Security & Privacy/Accessibility, select the privacy tab and allow ClipMenu. After doing that, it started to work.

As others have done ... I suggest using Clipy (it's being actively maintained, and working fine on MacOS 11.3), or another similar option is Maccy. You can buy on App Store ($9.99), or install free using Homebrew (brew install --cask maccy). Maccy doesn't store the clips in folders, which is a feature of Clipy (and ClipMenu) that I think is excellent.

I give thanks for @naotaka for developing ClipMenu, and for making it open source. Wherever you may be ... thank you.

It fixes the issues I had with ClipMenu like not being able to paste in the snippets.

https://github.com/Clipy/Clipy (or direct dl from https://clipy-app.com)

This works on my new iMac M1 that I just unboxed.

On my MacBook Pro when this happened a year ago, i just literally copied the binary from Applications folder from my previous laptop, that works too.

But the updated version in the link provided is a bit better (honestly, there is almost no difference).

Regarding removing an old version, Parallels Tools has a tool that will remove related files from Library directory, although you don't need to do that unless u corrupted permissions or a file, in which case, AppCleaner or the parallels tools app cleaner won't be as helpful, YMMV. Tldr - use Clipy, linked above IMHO

Still using ClipMenu in Sonoma.
There is no good alternative.
I wish he would update it.
Some of the screens are not in Dark Mode, which isn't huge, but not having iCloud sync is.
Clipy sucks. It's missing some of the best features. It's too bad they stripped it down.
It's a matter os choosing between no iCloud sync, and missing important functionality/
I still choose ClipMenu.
I hope he updates it, of passes the torch.
For now, I have to run 2 clipboard managers. I am using ClipMenu and Copy'EM.
Copy'EM is nice for some things, but not nearly as powerful as ClipMenu.
It's amazing after all of these years that it still works, even under the newest macOS.
