OrielOS v0.1.0 (testing)

Testing build. Computers on the testing channel get it by themselves. It becomes a stable version once it has been checked on real PCs. Want it now? Switch to the testing channel in Settings → Update (how).

What's new since v0.0.10:

Added

• GE-Proton is the default for Windows games in Steam from the Store: OrielOS installs it next to Steam and, the next time Steam is closed, makes it Steam's default, once, without changing a default you chose. A game's own compatibility setting in Steam still wins. Games and controllers explains it.

Changed

• Games come the way they do on Windows: Steam from the Store, and other stores through their own launchers, such as the Epic Games Launcher or GOG Galaxy, installed with Run this app. Start no longer suggests Heroic Games Launcher or Lutris, which stay in the Store for anyone who wants them, and the guides no longer point to them.
