What happened to netty 5.x?

I can't find any code for netty 5.x, no new snapshot for long time, there is no master branch in repository.

I just found this:

Were I can find any information about 5.x? is it already abandoned? if yes, then why?
And why I can find any information about this on wiki/webpage?
