Includes startup Agent resolution, authentication, and avatar initialization fixes. Package metadata, layout, and SHA-256 were checked. Physical BC250 boot, installation, and runtime validation remain pending.

This prerelease supplies the RPM for the ISO build. The finished ISO link will be recorded separately. The RPM has no app updater signature. Existing stable update feeds remain unchanged.

Naia v0.2.2 (Linux)

This is a prerelease, on purpose

Every installed Windows client polls
releases/latest/download/latest.json for updates, and GitHub resolves latest
to the newest release that is neither a draft nor a prerelease. Publishing this
as a normal release would move latest here, that URL would start returning
404, and every installed client would lose updates while reporting a network
error.

So this stays a prerelease until the Windows artifacts and a verified
latest.json land in the same release. Windows users: keep using 0.2.1 and its
in-app updater. Nothing about your update path changes.

x86-64 only. The bundled Vosk speech library ships as a linux-x86_64 build, so
arm64 is not available.

There is no automatic updater on Linux

Windows has a signed updater. Linux does not yet — these packages are not signed
and carry no update metadata. Updating means downloading the next release and
reinstalling. The package manager will handle the replacement for the deb and
rpm.

Verifying what you downloaded

The paths in that file are relative to the CI build directory
(rpm/, deb/, appimage/), because it is the byte-for-byte file the build
produced rather than a rewritten copy. Compare the hashes, not the paths.

Requirements

The deb and rpm declare what they need: webkit2gtk4.1, gtk3, pipewire-alsa
and alsa-lib, or their Debian equivalents. Everything else the app uses — the
Node runtime, the agent, the speech library — is bundled inside the package.

What is in 0.2.2

Persistent workspace-isolated memory, a configurable OpenAI-compatible base URL
for local and self-hosted servers, keyboard shortcuts for tool permission
prompts, reasoning separated from spoken output, GFM and Mermaid rendering in
chat, audio and video preview in the workspace, the naia shell command, and a
batch of background-music and localization fixes.

The full list is in releases/v0.2.2.yaml.

Known limits on Linux

The in-app browser panel embeds Chrome by reparenting an X11 window. On a
Wayland session that embedding does not work, and the panel will not show a
page. On an X11 session it does.

Local voice synthesis (VoxCPM2) is Windows-only in this release.

Windows v0.1.9 host voice upgrade hotfix.

This supersedes v0.1.8 after RTX 2070 field testing found that an upgrade could reuse structurally valid v0.1.7 Naia Host payload controls. The stale installer prepared only the default reference voice, while the current activation contract required the full eight-voice palette, so installation exited successfully but readiness verification remained incomplete.

v0.1.9:

• compares the installed payload's preparation script and activation contract with the controls packaged by the running Shell;
• atomically restages stale payloads from the verified local 3.7 GB ZIP cache without downloading the runtime archive again;
• requires the current approved reference-voice palette before reporting Naia Host ready;
• reports the exact failed readiness codes instead of only a generic incomplete-verification message; and
• blocks Windows release packaging unless the v0.1.7 default-only payload upgrade regression passes.

Validation:

• RTX 2070 field smoke reported normal installation and Naia Host voice startup;
• Windows release staging and stale-payload regression passed;
• 14 targeted Rust voice tests passed;
• 216 Rust library tests passed;
• the full Shell Vitest suite and production frontend build passed; and
• canonical Tauri packaging produced both NSIS EXE and MSI installers successfully.

Users of v0.1.7 and v0.1.8 should update to v0.1.9.

Windows v0.1.8 emergency patch release.

This supersedes v0.1.7 after field testing found two Windows release issues:

• Naia Host voice runtime downloads could fail with HTTP 401 because the packaged R2 public URL was incorrect.
• Updates or full uninstalls could retain installer-owned Agent/runtime dependency files, including stale node_modules.

v0.1.8 pins and live-verifies the public runtime URL before packaging (HEAD 200, byte-range 206, exact archive size), replaces installer-owned dependency trees during updates, and removes the exact Naia install root plus app-owned state on full uninstall while preserving user ~/.naia memory and workspaces.

Validated on Windows:

• 1,613 tests passed (21 skipped)
• v0.1.7 -> v0.1.8 update removed an injected stale Agent file
• ~/.naia and secure credential-store hashes were preserved across update
• installed Agent gRPC and BGM sidecar reached ready using bundled Node
• packaged Naia Host manifest points to the verified public R2 artifact

Users of v0.1.7 should update to v0.1.8.
