@nilovelez nilovelez released this 13 Oct 09:42

PDF Diva 1.5.0

Small polish, no new features.

Changed

  • Settings > Theme shows each option as a small picture of the speaker view in that theme, so the choice is easier to see.
  • The Windows installer has its own side image.

Fixed

  • The dark frame around the current and next slide in the speaker view is now the same width on every side.
  • In the reader, the highlight of the current thumbnail is centred on the thumbnail again.

Downloads

  • Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit): PDF-Diva-Setup-1.5.0.exe, or the Microsoft Store.
  • macOS 13 or later (Apple silicon and Intel): PDF-Diva-1.5.0.dmg.
  • Debian, Ubuntu and derivatives (64-bit): PDF-Diva-1.5.0-amd64.deb.

Installing

Windows: run the installer. To update, run it over your current version: your settings are kept. Windows may show Windows protected your PC, because the installer isn't digitally signed. Click More info and then Run anyway. The first start can take a minute while your antivirus checks the app. The Microsoft Store version doesn't show this warning.

macOS: open the .dmg and drag PDF Diva to Applications. The app isn't notarized by Apple, so the first time macOS says it can't verify the developer: click Done, then go to System Settings > Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway. macOS only asks once.

Linux: in the download folder, run sudo apt install ./PDF-Diva-1.5.0-amd64.deb. If the window doesn't appear on a Wayland session, log in with Ubuntu on Xorg (or your desktop's X11 session).

See the README for details.

PDF Diva 1.3.0

Choose a tag to compare

@nilovelez nilovelez released this 07 Oct 15:24

PDF Diva 1.3.0

Added

  • Configure displays. Choose what each monitor shows when you present: the speaker view or the slide for the audience. With three monitors you get two speaker views (for example, one for the technician and one for the speaker) and the audience; set every monitor to the audience to mirror the slide. It's in the reader toolbar and in the speaker view, and changes apply without stopping the presentation.
  • The Open dialog starts in the folder of the last PDF you opened.
  • PDFs opened with PDF Diva show their own icon in File Explorer.

Changed

  • New app icon.
  • The speaker view is full screen, without a title bar, and its text and buttons grow with the screen, so the timer and the page count stay readable on large monitors.
  • With a single monitor, Present shows the slide full screen, without the speaker view. Move through the slides with the keyboard or your remote.
  • The timer is the same in every speaker view. Its buttons show only an icon.
  • Present replaces With speaker view and Mirror screens, and Configure displays replaces Swap screens and Settings > Speaker display. The speaker monitor chosen in earlier versions is kept.

PDF Diva 1.2.0

@nilovelez nilovelez released this 06 Oct 20:50

PDF Diva 1.2.0

Added

  • Open PDFs from File Explorer. PDF Diva appears in Open with for PDF files, and you can choose it as your default PDF viewer with Always. Installing it doesn't change your current default.

Changed

  • PDF Diva runs as a single app: opening a PDF from File Explorer while it's running opens it in the same window. If a presentation is running, it ends and the new PDF opens in the reader.
  • The reader window hides while you present, so Alt+Tab and the taskbar only show the presentation. It comes back when the presentation ends, on the last slide shown.

PDF Diva 1.1.0

@nilovelez nilovelez released this 06 Oct 09:50

PDF Diva 1.1.0

Added

  • The interface is in English and Spanish. PDF Diva uses the Windows language when it has it, and English otherwise.
  • Language in Settings, to choose a language instead of following Windows. The change applies straight away, without closing the open PDF.
  • Anyone can translate PDF Diva into another language: see Translating PDF Diva.

Changed

  • Swap screens is remembered. After swapping the screens once, the next presentations start the same way round, even after closing the app. Settings > Speaker display shows the monitor in use; choose Automatic to go back to the default.
  • If your Windows is not in Spanish, PDF Diva now opens in English. To keep using it in Spanish, choose Español in Settings > Language.

@nilovelez nilovelez released this 05 Oct 18:19

PDF Diva 1.0.0

Added

  • Windows installer. Install PDF Diva from the Microsoft Store, or download the installer from GitHub if the Store is blocked. No administrator rights needed. The GitHub installer isn't digitally signed yet, so Windows shows a warning the first time (see below).
  • F5 starts the presentation from the first page and Shift+F5 from the current page, as in PowerPoint. Remotes with a "play" button work too.
  • Privacy policy: PDF Diva collects no data.

Changed

  • The app now blocks every internet connection, so it stays fully offline. Spell checking is off, because it downloaded dictionaries.
  • Uninstalling removes the saved settings.

Installing from GitHub

Download PDF-Diva-Setup-1.0.0.exe and run it. Windows may show Windows protected your PC (Windows protegió su PC), because the installer isn't digitally signed. Click More info (Más información) and then Run anyway (Ejecutar de todas formas). The first start can take a minute while your antivirus checks the app. The Microsoft Store version doesn't show this warning.
