git-zero 0.1.0

@pawelchcki pawelchcki released this 24 Oct 21:50
1182c58

First public release of the git-zero crate family.

Packages

  • git-zero: combined API with client/server reexports.
  • git-zero-core: objects, repositories, packs, indexes, zlib and delta primitives.
  • git-zero-client: transport-independent Git HTTP fetching.
  • git-zero-server: smart/dumb HTTP serving and opt-in receive-pack primitives.
  • git-zero-rustix: native file/socket adapters and the git-zero demonstration CLI.

The Rust libraries are safe no_std code without alloc. Hosts own buffers, storage, I/O, authentication and resource policy; CLI startup and JavaScript host applications have separate runtime requirements. The examples document their remaining provider, transport and deployment limits.

Install

[dependencies]
git-zero = "0.1.0"
cargo install git-zero-rustix --version 0.1.0 --locked

Requires Rust 1.85 or newer. Server protocols 0/1/2, SHA-1/SHA-256, bounded shallow/history selection, loose/packed HTTP publication, verified pack caches, and native/Worker adapters share the same core. The native CLI remains a read-only demonstration; the separate Cloudflare host demonstrates authenticated durable push/clone/fetch.
