Whenever i try to make new react app using 'create react app'. It shows this error "npm ERR! code ERR_SSL_DECRYPTION_FAILED_OR_BAD_RECORD_MAC". Please Help.

I solved this problem by allowing NodeJS in the firewall. I hope this method works.

On Windows:

• Search Windows Defender Firewall in the search bar.

• Go to Allow an app or feature through Windows Defender Firewall.

• Click on Change settings.

• Search Node.js JavaScript Runtime.

1. If you have Node.js JavaScript Runtime in the list:

• Click on one (of them) and click on Details... and make sure the Path point to node.exe.

• You can check the box on the left of the item to enable this rule.
• Choose between checking Public or Private (or both - depends on your network configuration).

• Click OK and the problem should be solved!

2. If you don't have Node.js JavaScript Runtime in the list:

• Click on Allow another app....
• Click on Browse....
• Choose node.exe (default path: C:\Program Files\nodejs) and then, click on Add.
• Do the step 1.

didn't work for me. I get this error when installing any npm package. Could it somehow has to do something with upgrading npm?

I had this error just now when I try to create an app name called "react-messenger" it throws the above error, but just removing the "react-" and setting the app name to "messenger" it worked don't know why.

I have noticed this several times whenever I try a long name or add any hyphen "-" to the project name it throws me an error also don't create-react-app in sub-folders as well. I guess the node is having some issue with windows operating system.
