Fixed

  • Record changes to zones listed under zones: were lost on restart: without zone_dir, a change made through the dashboard or the API was saved only to the persistent database, while the zone was loaded from its unchanged file at start, so every change since the file was last written was silently reverted. Changes are now written back to the zone's own file (rewritten in canonical form, so comments and $INCLUDE/$GENERATE lines are not kept; existing permissions are kept).
  • Changes lost by earlier versions are recovered: at start, a database copy with a newer SOA serial than the zone file is restored and written to the file, with a warning in the log.
  • A zone removed from zones: came back from the persistent database if it had been changed through the API. The database copy of a file-backed zone is now marked as a backup and is not restored once the file is no longer configured.
