Changelog

Supersedes 1.17.3: same runtime code and CSS, release gate hardened so the tagged commit is exactly what was checked.

Changed

  • make release-check is check-only: it starts and ends with the new check-clean-tree target (fails on any git status --porcelain output), runs cs-check instead of cs-fix + cs-check, and validate-phpdoc no longer writes files.
  • .scripts/complete-public-phpdoc.php (make validate-phpdoc) is a read-only gate: it fails when a documented public method returning array / iterable lacks @return, and no longer adds redundant @return tags that php-cs-fixer removes (the two tools used to fight and leave the tree dirty).
  • Tests: php-cs-fixer quote style in HostChromePartialsTest (no behaviour change).
