Changelog
Released from the 1.x branch (main is 2.x).
Fixed
- Responsive tables never hid a column on narrow screens (1.17.2–1.17.4): under 30rem the cells and their descendants had
overflow-wrap: anywhere, so the table could always shrink by breaking words at any character; the peer's fit (scrollWidth <= clientWidth) never saw an overflow, every column stayed and words split letter by letter (e.g. at 390px). Root-cause fix:- the
responsive-tablepeer measures under adata-rt-measuringstate (CSS:overflow-wrap: normal !important; word-break: normal !importanton cells and descendants,white-space: normalkept), so a cell's min-content is its longest word; it decides the hidden columns, then removes the state; overflow-wrap: anywhereis no longer tied to the viewport width: it only applies AFTER the fit, as a last resort, when the required columns still overflow — the peer setsdata-rt-overflowon the root and the visible cells may then break words (long URLs / ids), keeping 320px free of horizontal scroll with the required columns and the row detail button.

- Regression tests: Vitest with mocked layout widths where the table "fits" by breaking words outside the measuring state (fails on 1.17.4); CSS assertions that
anywhereonly exists under[data-rt-overflow]:not([data-rt-measuring])and that the row detail column shows under[data-rt-has-hidden].
