New Persian tables which should be added to NVDA #7367
Comments
can you provide links to these tables, and, or, are they already in libLouis? cc @jcsteh |
Yes. The tables are already in Liblouis 3.2.0.

Dear Davy,
A1. Yes. They are complete and fully tested.
A2. As mentioned in fa-ir-g1.utb's header, the old (ar-fa.utb) table
has conflicts with Persian braille script; because it was originally
based on the Arabic braille. Also I added Persian numerals and other
signs which not available in the old table.
I also modified my assignments of dot 7 and dot 8 in fa-ir-comp8.ctb;
because I thought it might lead conflicts.

I downloaded the Next_14168 and saw the mentioned tables. Thanks all of you NV Access! I hope Persian users could benefit from these new tables. Let me close this issue. Again, Thanks and |
This should remain open until this is merged into master. Thanks for testing. |
OK. I didn't know this rule. Thanks.

No problem. |
- New braille translation tables: Danish 8 dot computer braille, Lithuanian, Persian 8 dot computer braille, Persian grade 1, Slovenian 8 dot computer braille. (#6188, #6550, #6773, #7367) - Improved English (U.S.) 8 dot computer braille table, including support for bullets, the euro sign and accented letters. (#6836) - Changed the description for "Slovene grade 1" to "Slovenian grade 1" for consistency.
Farsi Grade 1 (ar-fa.utb) is deprecated and should be removed from NVDA list of tables.
I Provided a new table for Grade 1 instead. I called it "Persian Grade 1". The table's filename is "fa-ir-g1.utb".
I also provided an 8-dot computer braille table for Persian for the first time; called "Persian 8-dot computer braille". The table filename is "fa-ir-comp8.ctb".
Of course, both of these tables are uncontracted.
