Repository navigation
The panel finds its place in whatever dock you give it: tabs, toolbars and
Settings fit a narrow one, Settings reads as a form on a wide one and works
from the keyboard and a screen reader, and the panel takes Lit's own type and
colours. It names the page it follows, and the empty Updates and Tracks views
start a recording themselves. The language server and the Astro integration
are no longer experimental, and examples/checks shows every check in your
editor. Nothing needs action to upgrade.
Vite & Astro plugin
- Changed — A build carries nothing of the plugin's for
?css-sheet.
Each sheet's module now makes and fills the sheet itself, so a library's
dist no longer bundles a copy of the plugin's sheet helper next to the
app's, and the plugin can stay a dev dependency. - Changed — The Astro integration is no longer experimental. Its guide
drops the Experimental badge.
DevTools panel
- Added — The panel names the page it follows. Its path sits in the
header, and when another tab takes over, the notice names both pages and
offers to follow the earlier one again, instead of just saying that another
page connected. - Changed — Updates and Tracks can start a recording themselves. An
empty Updates tab offers Record updates, with the layer it needs turned on,
and an empty Tracks view shows how to start instead of blank lanes. - Changed — The Timeline's layer toggles live in one Layers menu.
Record leads the toolbar, and a Layers button holds what to record and, in
Tracks mode, which layers get a track, instead of two rows of chips above
the events. - Changed — The Components details pane opens wider. Descriptions and
source paths wrap less on first open; a width you set by dragging still
wins. - Changed — The panel looks like Lit's. The wordmark and section
headings are set in Lexend, as in the docs, and the active tab is underlined
in the Lit flame's blue and cyan. - Fixed — The panel fits a narrow dock. The tabs drop to icons, with
their names as tooltips, instead of Settings disappearing off the edge of
the header; the Components details pane moves under the tree instead of
squeezing it; toolbar buttons wrap, and Settings labels wrap with their
selects staying inside their cards. - Fixed — Settings work with a keyboard and a screen reader. Each
switch and select is announced with its setting's name, Tab goes straight
from control to control and shows the setting's description, and the
"default:" and "enabled" labels are readable in the light theme. - Fixed — Settings read as a form on a wide panel. Cards stop at a
form width instead of stretching across the panel, and the note at the end
of About lines up with the rows above it. - Fixed — Keyboard focus and form fields are easy to see. The focus
ring is solid instead of a faint glow, and in the light theme inputs and
buttons have outlines you can make out. - Fixed — Small toggles are easier to hit. The List/Tracks toggle and
the Settings switches respond across a full 24px instead of a thin strip.
Editors & language server
- Changed — The language server is no longer experimental. Its docs,
the VS Code extension's README and thelanguageServeroption drop the
Experimental label. - Fixed — Settings apply to a project opened through a symlink. A
folder reached through a link, such as one under /tmp on macOS, ran with the
default settings, ignoringmanifests, entries, the rules it turned on
and the check on save.
Docs & examples
- Added — An example with every check to open in your editor.
examples/checkshas one of each mistake the language server reports, next
to a documented component set to try completion, hover and the manifest on;
npm run lintandnpm run checkshow the same problems in a terminal. - Changed — The docs are easier to scan. Sections open behind a rule,
running text keeps a readable line length, and reference tables keep each
option, type and environment variable on one readable line. - Changed — The landing page reads more calmly. The other features are
a list you can scan instead of a grid of cards, and section headings stand
without labels over them. - Fixed — Anatomy and hover outlines show in the docs' live demos.
Embedded in a docs page that runs Lit DevTools itself, the panel sent them
to that page instead of the demo, so turning on Anatomy drew nothing.
