Release Notes: Broadlink Java API v1.0.2
Description
This release updates the Broadlink Java API to support Android and newer versions of Java (Java 9+). Previously, the library used javax.xml.bind.DatatypeConverter, which has been removed in Java 9 and is not available in Android's runtime, causing compatibility issues.
Changes
- Replaced
DatatypeConverter.parseBase64Binary()withBase64.getDecoder().decode() - Replaced
DatatypeConverter.printBase64Binary()withBase64.getEncoder().encodeToString() - Ensured full compatibility with Android, Java 8+, and Java 17+
Why this update?
- Fixes NoClassDefFoundError when using the library in Android.
- Ensures compatibility with Java 9+, where
javax.xml.bind.DatatypeConverterwas removed. - Uses java.util.Base64, which is part of standard Java and Android SDKs.
Testing
- Successfully tested on an Android app (no more crashes due to missing class).
- Verified in a Java SE 17 environment to ensure compatibility.
