find --id <arXiv id | DOI> …: a local, read-only existence check for a batch of identifiers (#10). It prints exactly one line per input, in input order: ID · KEY · itemType or ID · absent, plus · also KEY when the library holds duplicates. Ids can also be piped on stdin, one per line.
It makes no arXiv or CrossRef requests.
arXiv ids match with the version stripped, via archiveID, an Extra arXiv: line, the arxiv.org url, or arXiv's 10.48550/arXiv.* DOI. DOIs match case-insensitively, including a DOI: line in Extra.
Exit 0 when every input is valid, since "absent" is an answer. Exit 1 only for an input that is neither an arXiv id nor a DOI.
The documented existence-check recipe now starts with find --id rather than the create dry run.
enrich --key K --doi <DOI> --rebuild-record: upgrades a preprint to its journal record when arXiv doesn't name the journal DOI (#11). Previously this needed the Python client.
A hand-supplied DOI must pass a same-paper check: the titles agree up to small edits or an added journal subtitle, with identical numbering, and the first authors' surnames are equal.
On a mismatch it prints NEEDS OWNER, writes nothing, and has no override.
Repository DOIs, items that aren't preprints, and items that already carry a different journal DOI are refused before any lookup.
