v1.2.1

Patch

Fixes a duplicate-hook load error on session start.

The hooks field in plugin.json is for additional hook files — the standard hooks/hooks.json is auto-discovered. Pointing the manifest at the same default path caused the file to be loaded twice and surfaced this error in /doctor:

Duplicate hooks file detected: `./hooks/hooks.json` resolves to already-loaded file

Cleaned up plugin.json to only contain metadata fields. The redundant skills: ./skills/ was also dropped (default scan path; same-value reference is a no-op).

Upgrade

/plugin update tailord@onlydole-tailord

If you upgraded straight from 1.0.1 → 1.2.1, you also get all of v1.2.0: Anthropic schema conformance, detect-and-prompt for Vale, optional Exa, and the README/agent-table refresh.

v1.2.0

Highlights

  • Vale: detect-and-prompt instead of silent install. The SessionStart hook now only detects whether vale is on PATH and surfaces an install hint via systemMessage. The /tailord skill prompts you (via AskUserQuestion) before its first lint pass if Vale is missing. scripts/setup.sh remains the explicit-opt-in install path. Your existing local Vale install continues to work — the AuthenticVoice rules are still bundled.
  • Skill schema conformance. Dropped non-schema frontmatter fields (license, compatibility, metadata.version) from both SKILL.md files per Anthropic's official skill schema. License and version live in plugin.json.
  • Tighter allowed-tools. Bash globs are pinned to ${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/skills/tailord/scripts/lint.sh and setup.sh instead of the broad */tailord/scripts/* pattern.
  • Exa is fully optional. Stale mcp__exa__* prefix fixed in tailord-setup; the skill silently falls back to WebSearch/WebFetch when the claude.ai Exa connector isn't enabled. No install prompts for Exa.
  • README refresh. Dropped the "Exa is bundled" line (untrue since v1.1), replaced the stale 11-row editorial agents table with the four consolidated reviewers from the v1.1 consolidation.

Upgrade

/plugin update tailord@onlydole-tailord

If you don't have Vale installed yet, the skill will prompt you on first lint, or you can pre-install:

brew install vale # macOS
snap install vale # Linux

Breaking changes

None. Behavior is strictly safer (no silent installs). Drafts and voice profiles created with v1.1 work unchanged.
