Day 12 'cause I'm having a good time, having a good time

Code goal for today- 5th August

• Code the home page layout
• Working on css of home page
• Finalize the text for the home page
• Understanding the astro system a little more
• Enter button for the home page

Tomorrow

• Continue working on the home page
• Code the about page
• Illustration
• Understanding the astro system a little more

Today was a lot frustrating as it was kind of difficult to understand the astro system when I started it again from a blank file. And I was very close to go back to vanilla HTML but eventually I figured it out a little and am working on it with Astro. I will eventually figure it out little by little and keep working.
Overall, I was happy, at least I was able to code the home page and I am working on the css of it. I still have to work on illustration, that’s why I am working with sample images for now.
Again, overall still excited to make the website.

Breaking out my inner Freddie Mercury

The biggest blockers I had yesterday was figuring out the syntax of the new framework, and finalizing on a sitemap. I have shelved a few things for later, like linking a sitemap in Astro and major styling but determining how the structure of the folder was the win for today.

Today's goals and stuff finished:

• Barebones structure of the home page
• DirectoryLayout.astro
• Linking all the creation pages
• Set up Sitemaps

Tomorrow:

• Write md files for each category
• Make LibraryLayout.astro for magazine and bookhouse index pages
• Make layout for quotes and poetry pages
• Give finishing touches to components

Most of tomorrow would be spent out, but I am happy for today's progress. Will work later in the evening after getting home!

I am currently working on my home page. I'm done putting the content with basic styling and now figuring out the code for layouts. I worked on my high fidelity layout today and I'll be updating it simultaneously with my code. Today was fun! I finally got to see the first look of my website online.

Learnings of the day
components are case sensitive !!

Overalll a good experience and this approach of making a website with discovering things by own makes it fun ,(sometimes annoying also) but progress isn't always liner! looking forward to making more pages and connecting them all!

Insights

I think I am enjoying the process so far. My idea was to make a fun website, and I hadn't expected the process to become enjoyable or fun as well. For now, I am thinking of writing code for the basic layouts and then getting into the "nit-picking" phase for the details, because I feel I am getting carried away in accomplishing the details, and then end up with no substantial progress.

I tried copying codes from geocities waala personal websites but I couldnt get the hang of it in editing them.After struggling w it for long I then started writing own code with lots of help referencing w3 and chatgpt. All my elements are one below the other right now, i want them to be in columns, I revised on the froggy flex game to revise that. High hopes for August 6th in terms of progress. day 12- this the day 2 of making something of my own

Today I almost completed the homepage setup. The buttons are working and I linked the AboutMe page to the homepage. my yesterday's to-do list is complete. Now after this I will work on the AboutMe page which also I have started. Earlier I did not link my codes to the github hence I wasn't able to keep a record of all the changes I made. But thanks to Aman sir I did that as well.

_Right now, I’ve completed the structure and design of my homepage for my personal website. I'm working on building the structure for the other five pages about me, music I like, dramas I like, historical places, and travel diaries. I'm focusing first on getting the layout and flow right for all pages, and once the structure feels complete, I’ll add in the content and photos. I'm still deciding which photos to include, as I want them to reflect my personality and experiences in a meaningful way.
