OpenCRVS - v2.0.4
Introduction
OpenCRVS v2.0.4 is a hotfix release which includes security fixes and a deployment fix.
It is to be used in conjunction with a forked country configuration release v2.0.4
Security
-
Removed the unused
user.actionsendpoint from the events service. It was authorised only by a user-management permission, yet returned the full record declarations of every action the target user had taken, so administrators and other roles holdinguser.readcould read records they had no permission to open. The endpoint has had no consumer since the v1 gateway bridge was removed, so removing it changes nothing in the application. GHSA-hmgw-v78r-jjc4 (High) -
The events service no longer writes users' email addresses and phone numbers to the logs in full. When a user was created or updated with an email or phone number already in use, the value was logged verbatim; it is now masked. GHSA-55j9-g2xv-4qrw (Low)
Deployment notes:
- Existing log stores may still hold unmasked emails and phone numbers from before the upgrade. Scrub them according to your retention policy.

MinIO removed its images from quay.io and Docker Hub, so the MinIO server and client images could no longer be pulled. They now come from OpenCRVS-hosted copies:
ghcr.io/opencrvs/minio:release.2025-06-13t11-33-47zfor the server andghcr.io/opencrvs/minio-mc:release.2025-05-21t01-59-54zfor the client used by the data cleanup job. #13893Deployment notes:
- If you pull images through a private registry, mirror the two new images there before upgrading.
