Walkthrough

The calculation for train spawn rate in the DefaultConfig class was updated by doubling the multiplier in the formula, increasing the rate at which trains spawn based on the number of stations. The method signature and other logic remain unchanged.

Changes

Cohort / File(s) Change Summary
Train Spawn Rate Calculation
src/core/configuration/DefaultConfig.ts
Increased the multiplier in the train spawn rate formula from 20 to 40, doubling the base rate before the cap is applied.

Poem

🚂 Trains now gather, twice as fast,
Through stations' count, the die is cast.
A tweak so simple, numbers soar,
More engines rolling than before!
With code so clean, the change is neat—
All aboard for doubled fleet!

Learning: For OpenFrontIO project: When localization keys are renamed in language JSON files, the maintainers separate technical changes from translation content updates. They wait for community translators to update the actual translation values rather than attempting to translate in the same PR. This allows technical changes to proceed while ensuring accurate translations from native speakers.

Learning: The removeTroops function in PlayerImpl.ts already prevents negative troop counts by using minInt(this._troops, toInt(troops)) to ensure it never removes more troops than available.
