v1.0.2
openglacier Core v1.0.2 — antaa palaa
A faster query engine: typed batches, partial documents and smarter joins.
v1.0.2 is a performance release. Queries return the same rows; most of them do less work to get there.
Query engine
- Typed batches: row-local stages,
group, unwindand pivot cells run on batches of typed columns, with a
typed group key and dense measure states. - Partial documents: a query decodes only the fields it reads; Top-N ranks on partial documents and hydrates
the winners only. - Top-N is pushed through the stages that keep rows as they are.
- Joins: a
lookupon equality is served by a hash join, and a bounded lookup indexes only the joined rows
it can match (semi-join). - Ordered scans stream from the resident primary index instead of sorting every entry; samples are drawn
from the primary index. - Constant expressions are folded; row-local stages are compiled once; group measures fold from borrowed storage
values; a same-collectionunioncounts with one shared scan. - The memory governor reads available memory without sampling
/proc.
Language
- Several fields and expressions as pivot values.
\uXXXXescapes in strings.nullsorts like a missing field instead of failing.
Fixes
- The connection queue.
- A routing invariant violation answers an error instead of stopping the daemon.
