UAM 0.6.3 Public Preview

The public package now includes the 20-tool default read-only session profile and support for plain-directory workspaces alongside Git workspaces. The 11-tool Task continuity profile remains an explicit opt-in with default-deny authority. This release does not grant Task execution permission or establish unattended execution, privileged effects, or Product GA.

Install into an isolated environment with the MCP extra:

python -m pip install "universal-agent-middleware[mcp]==0.6.3"

Launch GUI clients with that environment's absolute Python path. Keep the registry and state outside the served workspace, preserve state before an upgrade, and use the managed-release switching procedure for immutable managed installations. Git and ripgrep are prerequisites for the capabilities that use them, rather than a requirement for ordinary directory access.

The tag points to the exact CI-verified source 7a71c4bdb55442b1a6ed2cb7055029daa0a7c187. Its eight portable regression/build jobs passed on Ubuntu and macOS with Python 3.11–3.14. The main merge has the same tree. The follow-up fixes test cleanup, cross-Python description comparisons, inaccessible-target teardown, and CI build dependencies without changing the 57 product files.

Use the attached SHA256SUMS. The release workflow verifies the uploaded GitHub and PyPI bytes; it neither rebuilds nor assumes an OIDC publisher. Standalone upgrade evidence remains bounded to the recorded macOS/Python 3.14 case. Actual client loading, authorization, persistent consumers and user acceptance are separate checks.
