The Standards Working Group has finalized the draft of the first standard that they suggest to be launched by OMF, dubbed “OMF’s ODD”. We request your comments, input, and questions at this time so we can put forward the most useful, and usable OMF ODD possible.
If you would like to discuss OMF’s ODD in person (or virtually), please let us know. The SWG will try to organize individual or joint meetings to address any topics or questions that arise. Below you will find links to the required Standards Documents - in both word document and PDF formats. Before sending in your feedback, please be sure to view all elements. If for whatever reason you cannot access the files from the links below, please contact the OMF Administrative Coordinator and copies will be sent to you directly.
Please send your comments in by Monday November 30th - The sooner the better
You ware welcome to add your comments in the discussion forum here or to send them directly to Comments can be sent to Volker Grimm [volker.grimm@ufz.de],
or to the OMF Administrative Coordinator.

Next steps will be as follows:
Once approved, the standard will get a DOI and a publication will be prepared to officially and formally announce the standard (the standard itself will be fixed, and not be part of the peer review). We also hope to convince journal editors to introduce their readers to this standard via editorials and hopefully also recommend or even require its use (at lest its base level).
We thank you greatly for your involvement and participation in this critical step forward for not only the SWG, but for the whole OMF!
Best regards,
Standards Working Group Co-Chairs: Volker Grimm, Serena Hamilton, Geerten Hengeveld, Maria Pierce
And the OMF Executive Committee
