Orbstack slow with Mutagen

This might not be a "bug". I have been using Mutagen on one of my Drupal sites with Docker Desktop on a Mac Intel. I just switched to OrbStack to try it out on this project and forgot that it was using Mutagen. The site and all command line commands is painfully slow now. WAY slower than it was before. I'm thinking I should perhaps not be using Mutagen at the same time as OrbStack? I don't see any mentions of Mutagen in the docs.

That's unexpected. Is it possible for you to share a way to reproduce this?

So I am using Lando v3.17.1, Mutagen version 0.15.2 with this plugin https://github.com/francoisvdv/lando-mutagen. I am on a Mac with Monterey 12.6.7 using an Intel Core i7 with 32G of ram. I am running a Drupal 10 site in these containers.

My .lando.mutagen.yml file looks like this:

For my OrbStack settings I have my memory set to 8GB and my CPU limit set to none.

That all being said, I did just get rid of my Mutagen config file locally and then I rebuilt my lando project with "lando rebuild" so it should theoretically not be using Mutagen now and now the site seems to be much snappier. I also made sure my Docker Desktop was not running (which it also wasn't running before). I think it is fine now? I'm still not sure if there are any wires being crossed with my old Docker containers/volumes/network for this project when I was using Docker Desktop. I'm not sure how all that works and I'm assuming Mutagen is completely out of the picture now, but I'm also not sure about that either because I don't fully understand the inner workings of how it actually does its voodoo. I just know using Mutagen sped up my site quite a bit.

So I THINK it might be fine now without Mutagen.

So I might have spoke a little too soon. Although my site does seem to be running and somewhat fast. I just tried to do a "lando restart" or even "lando stop" and I now get this error in the terminal "ERROR ==> connect ECONNREFUSED /var/run/docker.sock".

UPDATE: I just rebooted my computer and now I was able to start the site again with "lando start".

OK, so maybe forget I even started this post and sorry for the confusion. After getting it to work without Mutagen, I decided to re-enable Mutagen again just to see what would happen and this time it was totally fine. I have no idea what was happening the first time around, but I guess it's fine to have both running. I don't know if I SHOULD have both running, but either way it is working now and not slow. Sorry again for the confusion.

It shouldn't be an issue. Did you see high CPU usage/thermals while it was slow?

Closing as a likely duplicate of #237 which also has high CPU usage as a symptom. It'd be great if you, or someone else, could figure out a way to reproduce the issue because it seems quite rare unfortunately.
