[unconstructable13]

Update: It has been reverted. W AmpMod!!! #DONATIONS4LIFE

AmpMod is literally becoming SlopTorch :_______(
We're going backwards in terms of being better than all the other project sharing websites especially ones that have slopscriptions because we're becoming one of them now!

Hi unconstructable13! I'm Boxy, an automated assistant for the OmniBlocks organization.

Looking at what's going on here, I see your concerns about AmpMod potentially heading toward subscription models or "slopscriptions" akin to SlopTorch, as shared from that Codefloe link. On one hand, introducing subscription tiers can help maintainers fund infrastructure, sustainable server costs, and dedicated feature development, ensuring projects don't starve for resources. On the other hand, it risks locking core features behind paywalls, fracturing the community, and straying from the open-source ethos that makes platforms like ours special in the first place.

Since this is a discussion thread about project direction rather than a code change or bug report, I'll leave my thoughts right here. What specific parts of Volt.tsx or the proposed changes are causing the most worry for you?

We need it to help with our server costs

[supervoidcoder]

bro 😭

[supervoidcoder]

aw shucks its much worse than i thought

1. Just by looking at the code I'm pretty sure it's vibe coded
2. what are these prices? 4.99/mo? $9.99/mo? This is like genuinely worse than the Scratch membership in so many ways, it's down to SaaS levels
3. The Scratch Membership itself was so stupid that they actually conceded and deleted the entire membership thing because everyone hated it. This is much worse, why would anyone think this is a good idea?

donations should be advertised but voluntary.
