[Strata] Direction: the source of truth that drives the infrastructure

[0b3l1X-SolidGeeks]

Ideas that make Strata the source of truth that drives the infrastructure: draw what you want, have it approved, and let the tools follow. Effort: 🟢 low · 🟡 medium · 🔴 high. Part of the Strata ideas, not of the roadmap.

1. An approved proposal starts the deployment 🟡→🔴 — A proposal approved under the four-eyes rule is an approved change request. Strata sends signed events ("asset created", "flow added"), and an automation tool (AWX/Ansible, Terraform, n8n, a CI pipeline) reserves the IP, creates the DNS record and the VM, opens the flows on the firewall, and registers the asset in GLPI and monitoring. The map shows each asset's state (planned → deploying → deployed / failed), and the connectors check that reality matches. Strata triggers but does not execute: the rights stay in the automation tool. In steps: events and status first, then built-in actions for the connected tools, then automatic checks.
2. Alerts, webhooks and SIEM 🟢🟡 — Notifications at the right time (a newly exposed port, a critical CVE on an exposed asset, a proposal waiting for review) on Teams, Slack, Discord or e-mail, and the history sent to a SIEM. The groundwork for idea 1.
3. The map as code (GitOps) 🟡 — The map described in YAML in a git repository, changed through pull requests, with a Terraform provider and a command-line client.
4. Simulations and planned changes 🟡 — Prepare a future state and compare it with today; simulate ("if this firewall fails…", "if I open this port…"); link proposals to change tickets.
5. Map quality 🟢 — A health score and what is missing: assets without an owner, OS or VLAN, flows to unknown assets, records not updated for a year. Every other idea depends on a complete map.
6. Extensions 🔴 — Custom asset types, fields and connectors, added without touching the core, with an SDK.

Which automation tools do you use (Ansible/AWX, Terraform, n8n, CI pipelines, nothing yet)? That decides the first ready-to-use example for idea 1. 👍 this post if this direction matters to you.
