replacement for adafruit Qualia Bare Driver Board for the LP097QX1 display #2460
|
Hi all! A hardware question - not directly Bonsai/Bonvision related: sadly, the Adafruit Qualia Bare Driver Board for the LP097QX1 display that many of us use for visual stimuli has been discontinued. We still have a few, but are looking for alternatives. Has anyone of you found a readily available replacement? These should be equivalent, but we fail to get consistent responses from the vendor This one I found - but did not order/test Same for this one: We like the original adafruit driver since it exposes a PWM pin for screen blanking - so an equivalent replacement would be very useful. best wishes |

Hi folks, Sonya here from the Allen Institute. We had the same problem, so I made a fork of the Adafruit repository and made minimal changes to make the design manufacturable. I also ported the design to KiCAD since EagleCAD software is now deprecated. The release with the breakdown is here: Cheers! |

You can also buy these from Max Hunter if you don't want to go through the trouble of sourcing production: https://www.maxhunter.me/ (previously research assistant in the Carandini lab, now maker of things) |

Hey, I'm making an order of a bunch of these for some labs, let me know if you'd like any. They're pretty poorly designed in general though, and I suspect it might be nice to redesign them if there's enough interest (especially folks using them for 2-photon gating). |
