Recently I had an issue where I had been charged for $100 from Github despite the fact that I have not used Github or it's services for several months and have not signed up for their AI subscription. Both of my accounts show that I have no previous billing info which leads me to believe that it was made on a completely unrelated account. I have reached out to both my bank and Paypal. Paypal said because it was a service they could not determine the account that made the purchase. If other people have had similar experiences please feel free to let me know how to resolve the issue! Thank you and have a great day.

Thankfully Support got to me after creating a ticket and contact your bank to cancel your card.

Same thing happened to me today. I disputed the charge with PayPal. Why is GitHub doing this, or has my account been hacked?

Yeah, literally just happened to me this past week. There wasn't even any payment details attached to my github accounts

Same thing just happend to me yesterday October 28, 2026. PayPal is siding with the hacker. I believe PayPal is involved. I had an issue before wit PayPal, teaming up with a massiveonline clothing store scams, that thousands purchase clothing and the stores shut down, PayPal was involved with the scammers. I contacted The CEO pf PayPal, he was scared and asked me what do i want to happen, I said refund all the people you scammed from. It was a RICO Fraud. I am smelling the same thing here. GitHub recently distant themselves from PayPal. This is a fraud! And they stole from my PayPal too. I did not ever add a payment method to GitHub, I did not even know they had one.

I'm confident that PayPay will resolve this. Make sure you file a dispute with PayPal. The transaction will be placed on hold once you do.
