Hi everyone,

I'm currently enrolled full-time in a graduate degree program and have submitted my GitHub Education application three times.

I've completed all the requested account updates, including two-factor authentication, matching legal names in my profile and billing information, verified academic email, and academic documentation submitted through the required camera process.

Despite these corrections, my applications continue to be rejected.

I'm looking for clarification on which specific verification requirement is still failing, as repeating the same application process has not resolved the issue.

Is there a way to identify the outstanding problem without submitting the same documentation again? Wasting a lot of time here on this and it has me blocked on doing work.

Make sure your college is approved by Github Education and if you are sure, contact the support and they will resolve this issue.

Thank you. I think that I will need to contact support. I go to Harvard. I would assume it is approved.

Harvard is definitely approved. The automated checker usually trips on one of two strict checks:

1. Geolocation vs. Campus IP: If you submitted while connected to a VPN, proxy, or while physically away from the campus area, the system flags the IP distance from the university location. Make sure you apply without a VPN, ideally while on campus Wi-Fi.
2. Document Dates: The camera capture requires an official document clearly displaying current enrollment dates for example an active semester schedule or enrollment verification letter from the registrar, rather than just an ID card with no visible expiration date.

Opening a ticket with GitHub Education Support is your best move here so a human agent can manually approve your Harvard credentials.

Since you've already corrected the account details and submitted the requested documents multiple times, I would contact GitHub Education Support instead of submitting another identical application.

In your support request, include the dates of your previous applications, the exact rejection messages, and a brief list of the requirements you've already completed. Ask whether they can identify the specific verification check that failed or manually review your application.
