Hi, I'm sorry to hear that you're going through a similar situation. My GitHub account was also suspended about two months ago, and unfortunately, I'm still waiting for an update. I submitted a support ticket (#4696615), and I was also asked to provide my email address to the support team, which I did. However, I haven't received any further updates so far. To be honest, I'm still not sure what led to my account suspension. I've carefully reviewed GitHub's policies, but I haven't been able to identify anything that I may have done wrong. I understand that GitHub's support team handles a large number of requests and that reviewing these cases properly may take time. I'm sure they do their best to look into each situation carefully, so I believe it's worth being patient and giving them some time. There may still be a possibility of getting your account back, so I wouldn't lose hope just yet. Of course, I would really appreciate it if they could provide at least some clarification, even if the final decision cannot be changed. Knowing the reason behind the suspension would help me understand what happened and avoid any similar issues in the future. For now, I would suggest continuing your work with your new account rather than letting this situation hold you back. Hopefully, one day you'll receive some good news and regain access to your original account. I sincerely wish you the best, and I hope things work out positively for both of us! |

Hello GitHub Community and Support Team,
I'm writing this because I genuinely don't know what else to do. My GitHub account, @ssgamingop, was suspended around July/August 2026, and it has been an incredibly frustrating experience ever since.
This wasn't just another GitHub account for me. It was my old personal account that I had been using for years. It contained numerous repositories, projects, contributions, and a significant amount of personal development work. Unfortunately, many of those repositories were never backed up anywhere else.
Losing access to this account potentially means losing years of work that I cannot easily recreate.
One of the most frustrating parts of this situation is that I never received any email from GitHub informing me that my account was going to be suspended.
I did not receive:
Any prior warning about a potential suspension.
Any email notifying me that my account was under review.
Any notice explaining what policy I had allegedly violated.
Any notification explaining why my account was suspended.
The suspension happened unexpectedly. One day, when I tried to log in to my account, I was suddenly greeted with the message:
"Your account has been suspended."
It has now been months, and I still have absolutely no clarity about why this happened. I don't know what went wrong, what policy I supposedly violated, or whether this was a mistake.
I'm not asking GitHub to ignore its policies. I'm simply asking for transparency and an opportunity to understand and appeal the decision.
Whenever I try to contact GitHub Support regarding this issue, I receive a response telling me that I must contact them using the email address associated with the suspended account.
But here's the problem:
When I try to log in to my original account, GitHub displays a message saying that my account has been suspended.
I cannot access the account normally to follow the suggested support process.
When I raise a support request using another account, including my current account, I am repeatedly told to contact support from the original account.
This has become an endless loop with absolutely no resolution.
I have raised approximately 335 support tickets through different accounts, including my current account, trying to explain this exact situation.
Unfortunately, I keep receiving essentially the same response.
How am I supposed to contact support using an account that GitHub itself has made inaccessible?
I genuinely don't understand what GitHub expects me to do in this situation.
I would genuinely appreciate it if someone from GitHub Support or the account recovery team could:
Explain the suspension: Tell me why my account was suspended and what specific policy or issue led to this decision.
Provide an alternative verification method: Allow me to verify ownership of my suspended account without requiring me to log in to it.
Review the suspension: Manually investigate my case and consider reinstating my original account if possible.
Help recover my data: If reinstatement is not possible, please explain whether there is any way to retrieve or export my repositories and associated data.
I am attaching a screenshot of the suspension message I receive when attempting to log in, along with my old account's profile picture to help identify the account.

GitHub has been an important part of my development journey for years. This account contained projects that I spent countless hours building. Some were personal experiments, some were serious projects, and some represented important milestones in my learning journey.
I understand that platforms have rules and security policies. However, suspending an account without any notification or explanation, and then making it practically impossible for the owner to contact support, is an extremely frustrating experience.
I am not asking for special treatment. I am asking for a fair review, a clear explanation, and a reasonable way to verify my identity.
Please, GitHub staff or anyone from the account recovery team, look into this situation.
And most importantly, please don't redirect me to contact support using the suspended account again. That's exactly what I have been trying to explain is impossible.
I just want to know why this happened, and if possible, get back the account and years of work associated with it.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
