Organization suddenly disappeared — all private repos return 404, no notification #212132

This is not something the community can look up or restore. A public 404 on the organization and its private repositories, with the org gone from your own account and nothing in the security log, is consistent with a backend removal or restriction. It is not the usual “private resource returns 404 because the request was unauthenticated” case. Only Support or Trust & Safety can see the internal state. A similar disappearance was resolved in What usually moves these cases:
Staff sometimes notice these threads, but a reply here does not review the ticket. The ticket, plus the appeal form if this was a moderation action, is the path that can actually restore access. |

Thank you for the detailed response. I hope it will help me. |

A 404 on organizations/179495602 means the org is either deleted or hidden by a platform-level action, so only GitHub staff can say which.
Your local clones are probably the only copy of the private repos. Run git clone --mirror or git fetch --all on every machine that has a clone.
Open https://github.com/organizations/CYBERMECHANIX/settings/profile and https://github.com/CYBERMECHANIX while logged in, and in a private window. Note the exact page or error you get.
Reply on #4946083 rather than opening another one. A third ticket can slow things down.
Try the Account or Appeals categories at support.github.com/contact. A ticket routed to the wrong team may be why the first one was auto-closed. |
Uh oh!

Hello,
On November 3, 2026 my organization CYBERMECHANIX (org ID 179495602)
disappeared without any action on my side. I am its sole owner
(account @Serzhiv).
What I see:
"Repository not found" on git push/pull;
What I checked:
no member removal and no unrecognized sign-ins;
I opened support ticket #4946083 on November 3. My first ticket was
auto-closed by the virtual assistant as out of scope; the second one
is still open with no response so far.
Has anyone experienced the same? Could a GitHub staff member
please check whether the organization was flagged, suspended or
deleted, and help get the ticket reviewed?
Thank you.
