Two repositories currently riding GitHub trending-style star counts — TagPhaseArcade/tiktok-uploader (431 stars / 336 forks) and dragonwolfshovel/youtube-uploader (430 stars / 359 forks), both created 2026-11-05 — are malware bait. Their READMEs' 'Download Project' button sends you to an external telegra.ph page to download an archive and run an .exe; the code inside the repos is filler. Fork ratios of 78-84% and single-repo owner accounts confirm inauthentic engagement. Do not download anything from them; abuse reports have been filed. Check any trending repo for this pattern (off-GitHub download button + inflated forks) before trusting it.
