Hi everyone,
It’s World Mental Health Month this May so we’d like to take this opportunity to remind our students and teachers to have regular self check-ins throughout your academic year. Studying and taking exams is stressful so it’s essential to pause that brain power and take a breather: go out for walks in nature 🚶♀️🌳, stay active and engaged with fun activities or become absorbed in a great book or podcast 🎧🎵
But before you walk out that front door to give yourself some well deserved TLC (tender loving care) we have the following community superstars to praise. Let’s come together and give them a self esteem boost! 🎉👏
Wholesome dopamine hit for these community members ⭐
Huge shout out to @Xiodrade for sharing their efforts and how they submitted a successful application!
Another brilliant explanation by @snowball-rain detailing how they pre-translated their evidence from Japanese 🇯🇵
Hope you’re enjoying GitHub Global Campus! 🎉
Self-Reflection: GitHub 🪞
GitHub recently experienced several availability incidents, both long running and shorter duration. We have since mitigated these incidents and all systems are now operating normally. Read here for more details about what caused these incidents and what we’re doing to mitigate in the future.
Hack for 72 hours under the stars with Hack Club 🌠
Every year, Hack Club does something special, from running a cross-country hackathon to sending out $50,000 in hardware grants with GitHub; all planning, code, and budgets are open source on GitHub.
This summer, let’s ditch bland classrooms and join hundreds of other high school coders, makers, and hackers IRL in the great outdoors. The event doors will be open from July 28th to the 31st, it’s completely free, and travel grants are available.
Want to build your own radio? Hike with fellow Rustaceans? Share your hidden knitting talent? Or code till you drop? Go for it. This is your space for experimentation.
The entire adventure will be community-built and open-sourced. To RSVP, let us know one thing you’d want to do if you had seventy-two hours in the woods in this Hack Club’s Discussion 💬
Meditate on these upcoming events 🧘

Before we go, let’s do a quick meditative exercise: Breathe-in, hold… now breathe-out 🫁Remember to take some time out and concentrate on yourself. Repeat after me: I am worth it! I am amazing! 🌟
