Describe the Problem
I'm a professional web designer, and one of the main reasons I chose Elementor was its intuitive, visual editing experience. It allows me to build professional websites that my clients can confidently maintain themselves, without technical knowledge.
After working with Atomic Editor V4, I'm concerned about the direction Elementor is taking. The new approach introduces CSS classes, variables, and styling inheritance into everyday design workflows. While these concepts offer advantages for developers and advanced users, they also create unnecessary complexity for those who simply want to build or maintain a website.
For example, in the Classic Editor, I can define global colors and typography and easily make local adjustments when needed. In Atomic Editor, even simple styling decisions involve navigating a more technical system.
My clients are business owners, not developers. They need to edit text, replace images, and occasionally adjust the appearance of a section without having to understand how CSS classes or variables interact. If the Classic Editor is eventually replaced entirely, Elementor risks losing one of its most valuable qualities: accessibility for non-technical users.
Propose a Solution
Keep the Classic Elementor Editor as a fully supported alternative alongside Atomic Editor V4.
Allow web designers and website owners to choose the editing experience that best suits their needs.
Specifically, I would like Elementor to:
Atomic Editor can continue developing as an advanced design system for those who want its additional flexibility.
The Classic Editor should remain a valid choice for those who value simplicity, efficiency, and an intuitive editing experience.
Progress should mean giving users more possibilities, not taking away the workflow that made Elementor accessible in the first place.
Additional Context
Currently, I can deactivate Atomic Editor and continue working with the Classic Editor. However, this is only a satisfactory solution if Elementor intends to maintain the Classic Editor in the long term. A simplified mode within Atomic Editor could be an alternative, but I would strongly prefer keeping the existing Classic Editor available rather than introducing another interface that attempts to recreate its functionality.
