Error 500 on version 6.7.X

Hi everyone,

I use firefly-iii for some time, it always updated fine, but I'm probably doing something wrong on this update, as I'm getting an error 500.

For the last version I've tried (6.7.3, if I'm not wrong), I remember it complaining about a variable that didn't exist. I've tried again with 6.7.4, and it complains of missing functions.

Opening "/debug", the following appears to me:
Undefined array key "installation_id" (View: /var/www/firefly/firefly-iii/resources/views/partials/debug-table.blade.php)

For the main page, I get a:
Call to undefined function format_amount_by_symbol() (View: /var/www/firefly/firefly-iii/resources/views/components/generic/amount.blade.php) (View: /var/www/firefly/firefly-iii/resources/views/components/generic/amount.blade.php) (View: /var/www/firefly/firefly-iii/resources/views/components/generic/amount.blade.php)

Thank YOU for getting back! :)

I removed the updated folder and moved back the backup on live, so I got the debug info below.

I've tried to run a vimdiff between my .env with the .env-example from the actual build to make sure there were nothing really far that could be necessary, also tried to remove the "FIREFLY_III_LAYOUT=v1" as a test, but the error messages were still the same.

Ok, I definitely did something wrong. I tried again to update, this time to version 6.7.7.

I ran a MySQL backup before everything and also moved the old installation folder to firefly-iii-old, as usual. But, again, I was having an error 500. Ok, so I deleted the new folder, deleted all tables in MySQL, reimported the old SQL file, restored the old folder and... Still error 500!

After some hours trying to solve it, I noticed only the home page is not working. Every other page in FFIII works as normal, except for the home one, that shows me the following issue:

It seems to be related to DB, but not sure how to fix that. I've probably run all Laravel commands to check/fix things, but nothing. Funny that updating to 6.7.7 makes everything stop working with error 500, only version 6.6.6 that still works.

Hey,

I'm surprised you get that error, because that method exists. It shouldn't complain about it.

But today I plan to release 6.7.8, and who knows, third time's the charm?

You won't believe, it is working again, and the only difference was a server reboot. I had even restarted Apache, tried it in different browsers, even on my phone. Maybe some glitch with Apache!

I'll run another backup and try to update to 6.7.8 (adding a server reboot in the process).

6.7.8 was giving me a "Target class [has] does not exist" on migrate -seed, but 6.7.7 worked fine after a restarting php8.5-fpm, mysql and apache2 services. Probably some cache in fpm.

I'm posting just to have an answer in case someone else have the same issue.

Yes, more people noticed it. You can grab the latest development version which fixes it until the next release is out. Barring any big issues, that will be tomorrow/.
