Threads

Can Stoat have thread/forum channels like Discord? This may be useful for servers that have platforms and need from members to suggest new features as a discussion.

Duplicate of https://github.com/orgs/stoatchat/discussions/997
There's lots of discussion and differing opinions on how this should be implemented and as such will unfortunately take time. However, it is on the list of features to be added in the long-term so no ETA unfortunately.

Just to clarify: since you say this is a duplicate of #997, does that mean that there is no plan to add "simple" threads to every room, sort of like Matrix does? Like a different type of reply message available at all times, that creates a thread?

No I am not saying there is no plan.
I am simply stating it is a duplicate request and to keep all information and discussion volumes at a manageable level that all discussion should therefore be moved to #997.

"However it is on the list of features to be added in the long-term".

Sorry, @twitch0001, what I meant is that #997 is not about threads themselves, but about a "fórum" type of channels/rooms. What I meant to ask is if there are plans to add threads as a "universal" reply option, not just in certain types of rooms
