OriginRouter CLI 0.4.2 Release Notes

Release date: 2026-09-27

A follow-up to 0.4.1 that closes the two remaining Windows rough edges found during end-to-end installation testing: the background service failing to register, and slow Python downloads that bypassed the system proxy.

Fixed

🛠️ Windows background service now registers successfully

  • originrouter service install previously failed on Windows with
    (35,25): Interval:PT30S — Task Scheduler rejects failure-restart intervals
    shorter than one minute. The generated task XML now uses the schema minimum
    (PT1M), so the OriginRouter daemon registers and auto-starts on logon.

🚀 Python / LiteLLM downloads now honor the system proxy

  • originrouter setup and originrouter proxy install download Python, uv,
    and LiteLLM packages through pip/uv, which ignore the Windows system proxy.
    The CLI now reads the system proxy (Windows Internet Settings) and passes it
    to those tools as HTTP(S)_PROXY environment variables, restoring normal
    download speed behind local proxies such as Clash — no manual environment
    setup required.
  • ORIGINROUTER_PROXY explicitly overrides the detected proxy;
    ORIGINROUTER_NO_PROXY=1 disables detection. Existing HTTPS_PROXY/HTTP_PROXY
    values always win.

Upgrade notes

  • Upgrading from 0.4.1 or 0.4.0 requires no manual migration. If the
    background service previously failed to register, simply re-run the
    installer or originrouter service install after upgrading:

    npm install --global @originrouter/cli@0.4.2

    or re-run the platform installer:

  • Full logs of the previous release (0.4.1) are available in
    CHANGELOG.md.

Quality

  • Added regression coverage for proxy environment inheritance (explicit
    overrides, disabling, and non-Windows no-op behavior) and for the Task
    Scheduler interval constraints in the generated Windows task XML.

  • originrouter setup 与 originrouter proxy install 通过 pip/uv 下载
    Python、uv 和 LiteLLM 依赖，而这些工具不认 Windows 系统代理。CLI 现在会
    读取系统代理并转成 HTTP(S)_PROXY 环境变量传给它们，在 Clash 等本地代理
    环境下恢复正常下载速度，无需任何手动设置。
  • ORIGINROUTER_PROXY 显式覆盖检测到的代理；ORIGINROUTER_NO_PROXY=1
    关闭检测；已设置的 HTTPS_PROXY/HTTP_PROXY 永远优先。

升级说明

  • 从 0.4.1 或 0.4.0 升级无需任何手动迁移。如果之前后台服务注册失败，升级后
    重跑安装器或 originrouter service install 即可：

    npm install --global @originrouter/cli@0.4.2

    或重跑平台安装脚本：
