Fork of @st-one-io/nodes7 1.1.2 with the S7comm fill-byte fixes, proposed upstream in st-one-io#19. Same API; only the package name changes: npm install @oriolrius/nodes7.

Fixes

  • Multi-item writes send the fill bytes again. 1.1.2 dropped them, so PLCs answered 0x8104 (st-one-io/nodes7#16).
  • writeItems() counts the fill bytes when splitting requests, so writing many booleans/bytes no longer exceeds the PDU (#8).
  • Read optimizer reserves the response fill bytes, fixing 0x8500 with many odd-length variables (#17).

Tests

  • Unit tests for each fix; the suite no longer depends on the local timezone (250 passing).
  • npm run test:integration runs against a strict PLC simulator that rejects malformed or oversized frames like a real CPU.
  • CI: unit tests on Node.js 18/22/24 plus integration tests.
