Keiko 1.2.0 Release Notes

High · Fixes

  • Connected folders: ask questions across nested Git repositories and ordinary folders. Eligible text files up to 2 MiB are inspected without a default file-count, directory-depth or scan-deadline cutoff; explicit budgets, Stop, sensitive-path and binary exclusions remain enforced.
  • Grounded retrieval: preserve relevant excerpt bodies and physical citation locations, including supported declared legacy text encodings. Unavailable descendant folders do not suppress directly readable declared manifests; incomplete coverage remains explicit and root failures remain refused. Failed parallel retrieval releases owned work.
  • Chat test examples: when eligible connected-folder content fits the source budget, requests for a testing framework retain freshly read file evidence. Specific file and symbol searches remain targeted, and requested relationship or history searches still run. Generated code is returned in Chat.
  • Context and models: use the selected deployment's input, output and context limits for source fitting, compaction and the context meter. Learn undeclared windows from provider statements; keep provider-measured usage separate from estimates and refresh attribution when switching models.
  • Knowledge Pods: source-backed answers can include a separately labelled model assessment when requested. Operators can disable this with groundedAnswers.ownAssessment; assessments are not presented as evidence from the attached sources.
  • Source details: distinguish inspected files, selected excerpts, citations and references sent to the model. Uncalibrated citation scores are removed, and source/context labels follow the interface language.
  • Files and Editor: keep the selected project or ordinary folder aligned with its tree and open files, recover after reload without duplicating connected folders, preserve unsaved-buffer ownership across tabs, and open citations at the actual file and range.
  • Editor workflow: the ordinary Editor is now a manual file editor. Agent presence/history, incoming agent actions, agent patch review and Editor/Chat handoffs are removed; manual editing, saving, history and language tools remain, alongside the separate Coding Workbench.
  • Gateways: respect delayed responses and provider cooldowns within the request budget, cancel pending retries when stopped, and avoid replaying a partially streamed answer. Active admitted work protects idle sessions without extending revoked or absolutely expired authority.
  • Support: create and download one compressed, integrity-checked report directly from an error. Reports carry redacted causal diagnostics instead of complete logs; unavailable evidence stays explicit, failed regeneration preserves a usable attachment, and download initiation is not presented as proof of an operating-system save.
  • Support storage: replace the fixed 32-case display with bounded byte/age retention and release owned incident state after successful report preparation. Desktop reports are not accumulated in a permanent application archive.
  • Support operators: the canonical report reader validates the received file before analysis. Update legacy scripts to use a private output directory, omit former inclusion flags and sidecars, and read the versioned analysis envelope; regenerate retired legacy bundles on the originating installation.
  • Windows: ordinary local checkouts accept Git's canonical path spelling, including paths with spaces. The separate gateway-filtering work is a native test primitive; it does not yet enable production Windows Coding Workbench execution.
  • Dependencies: update source-map-js to 1.2.2 and smol-toml to 1.9.0, fixing denial of service from malicious indexed source maps (GHSA-68fv-2mgg-jv7q) and quadratic TOML key parsing (GHSA-r4xh-jqrq-34v2). Existing supply-chain checks and time-boxed build-only advisory dispositions remain enforced.
