Check/fix and write a test for the report generation

Report generation wasn't used after the refactoring and may have been broken. Check if it works, make any needed changes, write a test for it and submit a pull request!

Did you have a list of scenarios you wanted to cover for the Report Generator. I was looking at the methods.

2. happy path

@sudhirmohanraj I just checked your fork, your changes are great! Feel welcome to submit a Pull Request when you have the feeling you covered all/most edge cases here.

One note: if you don't mind, we prefer not to use @author tags - instead, add yourself to the AUTHORS.adoc file.
