2dog 4.7.2.133 adds experimental iOS hosting and MAUI iOS support, and fixes Qt startup, browser WebGPU initialization and Linux shutdown. It targets Godot 4.7.2 and .NET 10.

Changes

  • Experimental iOS host. Run a Godot C# game as a .NET for iOS app with 2dog.ios, ARM64 device and Simulator packages, and single or double precision. Builds bundle the game pack automatically and link static GDExtensions from libraries or xcframeworks.
  • Godot in MAUI iOS pages. The MAUI host can now embed Godot on iOS alongside its Windows and Android targets. New templates include the UIKit scene lifecycle and runtime registration; the view waits for a usable size before attaching. The iOS guide covers setup, signing, Simulator builds and trying CI-built apps.
  • Reliable Qt startup on Windows. The host finds Qt dependencies beside the application when launched with dotnet run, avoiding native-library load failures caused by the working directory. Missing dependencies now surface the native loader's error.
  • Correct WebGPU startup for Mobile web exports. Published browser bundles select WebGPU before engine startup when renderer/rendering_method.web is mobile and the WebGPU payload is available. Compatibility exports keep their OpenGL default.
  • Safer Linux X11 shutdown. Ignored generic X11 events no longer leave invalid event-cookie data for libX11 to free during shutdown, preventing cleanup errors and possible crashes.

Upgrading

Commit your project changes, then run from the Godot project directory:

dnx 2dog@4.7.2.133 update

Managed packages: 4.7.2.133. Native and tools packages: 4.7.2.45.

To add the standalone iOS host, run dnx 2dog@4.7.2.133 add --ios. iOS builds require a Mac with Xcode and a compatible .NET ios workload (maui-ios for MAUI). The generated host targets iOS 15 or newer; supported RIDs are ios-arm64 and iossimulator-arm64. Intel Mac Simulators and Mac Catalyst are unsupported. Device builds require signing; physical-device input, audio and background handling still need validation. iOS uses Mono, with the interpreter in Debug and AOT compilation in Release; Native AOT (PublishAot) is unsupported.

To add iOS to an existing MAUI host, manually merge the iOS target, package references and properties, and the Platforms/iOS files from the updated MAUI template. Include the scene manifest and delegate, register the game's plugins initializer in AppDelegate, and add an iOS export preset (or supply TwoDogIosPack). The package update does not rewrite host source files. See the MAUI guide for build commands.

Direct Engine.Start() calls on Android now throw PlatformNotSupportedException instead of attempting desktop-style startup. Let the Android host or MAUI view start the engine; on iOS, use GodotHost.Start or the MAUI view so the platform owns the frame loop.
