Oxia Java Client 0.10.4 is a patch release. It stops the client from lifting the grpc, Netty, OpenTelemetry and protobuf versions of the applications that use it, deprecates list() in favor of rangeScan(), and lets a range scan leave out the values.
Compatibility
- Oxia server 0.15.0 or later is still required.
- The client now declares the oldest library versions it supports, the Pulsar 4.2 line: grpc 1.75.0 (was 1.84.0), Netty 4.1.139.Final (was 4.2.18.Final), OpenTelemetry 1.62.0 (was 1.66.0), protobuf 3.25.5 (was 4.34.0) and proto-google-common-protos 2.59.2 (was 2.64.1). It no longer publishes its build's BOMs or dependency constraints. Applications that already use newer versions keep them; an application that only depends on the client gets these versions unless it declares newer ones. Both these versions and grpc 1.84.0, Netty 4.2.18.Final, OpenTelemetry 1.66.0 and protobuf 4.34.0 are tested (#489).
list()andListOptionare deprecated for removal.list()behaves as before (#485).
Bug Fixes
- Gradle builds that use the client with Pulsar 4.x were lifted to grpc 1.84 and Netty 4.2 by the client's published BOMs, which could break other libraries on the classpath, for example CEL validation through
grpc-xds1.84 anddev.cel0.13.1 (#489).
New Features
RangeScanOption.IncludeValue(false)makes a range scan return the keys and versions without the values. Older servers ignore the request and send the values, and the client drops them (#487).rangeScan()replaceslist(): it streams the records with backpressure and can stop early (#485).
