Choose a tag to compare

Fixed

  • Map — a style passed to mapStyle keeps all of its layers on a device. Styles written for the browser can use icon-overlap, text-overlap and resampling, which the native renderer cannot parse. It dropped every layer that used one and logged layer doesn't support this property for each. A hosted street style lost its station, bus-stop and city labels this way. Map now changes those properties to the older names native reads. It also removes the attribution-only source behind source must have tiles, which drew nothing. To do this Map fetches a URL style itself and draws nothing until the style arrives. If the fetch fails, the URL goes to the renderer unchanged, as before. (#235, reported by @yashDahiwale)
  • Button, AnimatedBadge, Progress — on Android, a control that had been busy kept reading as "busy" after it settled, in place of its own name. React Native writes the busy state into the view's description, and leaves the old description in place when it has nothing to replace it with. Button and AnimatedBadge now take a name from plain-text children, so the description is rebuilt from that text. A Button whose children include an element needs an accessibilityLabel for the same fix. A Progress bar that turned determinate no longer reads as busy beside its value. AnimatedBadge is also read as one element, its word and its state together. (#234, reported by @Pok09, with the root cause traced to React Native's source)
// Children that include an element: name the button yourself.
<Button loading={saving} accessibilityLabel="Save">
  <SaveIcon size={16} />
  <Text>Save</Text>
</Button>

Docs

  • Map — an example for a hosted style. The props table now says source is ignored when mapStyle is set.
